JAMES WATSON

James is a Director of Investments at Catcha Group, focusing on existing and new portfolio and project investment opportunities.

He is an experienced corporate advisor and in-house strategic and corporate development professional in the Southeast Asian technology landscape.

Prior to joining Catcha, James led Credit Suisse’s investment banking tech team in Southeast Asia based in Singapore, and prior to this formed part of Grab’s corporate development, fundraising and strategy team. Originally hailing from Australia, James worked in Morgan Stanley’s investment banking division advising on M&A and capital markets transactions in Australia prior to moving to Southeast Asia.  

Over the last 10 years, he has advised on more than US$7bn worth of transactions across Southeast Asia and Australia.

James received Bachelor of Commerce (Honours in Finance) and Bachelor of Arts degrees from the University of Melbourne in Australia.
